The Bar at the Poplars
In the evening enjoy a drink in our cosy, well stocked bar.
The Poplar’s bar is legendary in Combe Martin and most of the local residents have found themselves at some time enjoying a quiet drink with Cliff.
This is the perfect spot to end a busy day or take part in the festivities.
Listen to Cliff’s interesting stories about the Poplars and how he discovered a 17th century well.
Cliff might play a few romantic numbers on his guitar or keyboard. You may even win a free drink!
The bar is the natural heart of the Poplars and hosts many activities like:
> Dancing on the dance floor
> Discos
> Performances by local musicians
The bar has been extensively remodelled over the years and carries almost anything you could think of so why not give it a try?
 The Lounge and Bar at the Poplars
We have a lovely lounge adjacent to the bar which is very cosy.
There is a log fire and our guests can spend some time chatting over a quiet drink or they may be entertained by Cliff.
Our guests have come back again and again to enjoy those carefree nights looking over the bay as the sun sets and dance the night away or just sit and chat. Either way you will leave relaxed and ready to go home.
The lounge has just the right atmosphere and you can use it in the morning to finish a coffee and read the morning paper, or look out of the window to admire the view of the cove. Then later in the day it may be just the right quiet spot to have a nap. Then later join your friends around the log fire with a warming drink!
